Amazing Lunas France

Lunas, Avene, Brenas, Ceilhes et Rocozels, Dio et Valquieres and Joncels are small but pretty villages in the area known as the 'Pays des Monts et des Sources', 'Land of Mountains and Springs'.
Take a drive through this pretty countryside and stop to discover the pretty villages tucked away in this peaceful area of the Herault department in Languedoc Roussillon.

For a quiet day away from the coast or the vibrant city of Montpellier explore some of the less well known countryside of the Languedoc Roussillon region. Driving through the pretty countryside of hills and rivers is a pleasure.

Discover Lunas

One of the biggest of the villages Lunas has a pretty setting on the edge of the River Gravezon. Attractive stone terrassed houses and the chateaux de Lunas with its attractive square turrets line the river bank. (See main photo above).
Visit the tourist office next to the Church of Saint Pancrace and pick up a leaflet which can guide you through the main sights of Lunas.

Take a look at the  a frieze sculpted with human and animal heads of the Saint Pancrace church in the village. On the edge of the village is an older church, the Chapel of Saint George which is the oldest building in the village.
The original chateau, which sat above the village, was burned down in 1627 and later rebuilt next to the river in 1641.This is now a restaurant allowing you to admire the castle at the same time as enjoying a pleasant lunch or dinner.

The houses of the village tend to have a ground floor which was originally used for animals. The next floor was for living in and therefore has windows and the most decorative parts of the facade. Above this was a storage area. On the eaves of the roofs look for the 'genoises', these are rows of tiles which divert the rain and the more rows there are the richer was the owner!

Gibraltar Vacation Travel Guide

Although it covers less than 3 square miles, Gibraltar’s strategic location has made it one of the most fought over places in Europe. For centuries, it has withstood political manoeuvring, sieges and battles and today, with its red call boxes, Union Jacks and high street shops, Gibraltar staunchly stands as a small pocket of England in the heart of the Mediterranean.

ACTUAL Indian Cold Weather

Herein, I share some cold weather patterns I'd been studying since the last three years at Vatsalya Udayan (www.vatsalya.org) (www.fb.me/vatsalyachildrenvillage). (You may click these links to find out more about this wonderful organization) We've recorded down to -8 degrees here and a lot of frost and ice, when the same day it rises to 25 degrees celsius. Meanwhile in Jaipur, only 30 kms away, it rarely dips below 8-9 degrees. This difference is in fact not only due to the geographical features of Vatsalya Udayan, but also hugely impacted by the high level of pollution in the major cities of India, which disturb the normal weather patterns. It's another example of urban heat island effect, much more amplified. So: Let us please try to protect nature's balance. Use only as per your need, not your greed and think about where that energy which powers your home comes from :)

Get a ride throughout whole Montenegro, from the Adriatic Sea to the galleries and tunnels in the mountainous part of the country. Railway line Belgrade - Bar rises from the sea level to an altitude of 1032 m. The lowest point of the railway line is 3m altitude and it is located in the Port of Bar. The railway then slowly climbs to the Sozina tunnel. The Sozina tunnel, 6171m long, is the longest tunnel on the Belgrade - Bar line. After passing through the mountain Rumija the railway line meanders through the valley of Lake Skadar. Until the city Podgorica railway line is located in the plain. After the city of Podgorica the line becomes much more interesting. There is a canyon of the river Morača. The line runs through a multitude of tunnels and galleries, across many bridges and continuously climbs towards Kolasin. To overcome the high altitude difference at a short distance, a serpentine was made in the canyon of Mala Rijeka river. On that part the line crossing over the highest railway bridge in Europe. Mala Rijeka bridge has a height of 200m from river to track.

On one part of the railway there is a tunnel Trebesica with a bridge built in it. During the digging of the tunnel mountain cleavages have encountered. This part of track had to be bridged. After Trebesica tunnel there is a continental climate and a different flora and fauna. The line highest point is located in the tunnel, near Kolašin. After Kolašin the line descends towards Bijelo Polje.
The whole Belgrade - Bar railway line has 254 tunnels and 234 bridges. There are 102 tunnels and 96 bridges in Montenegro. The most prominent infrastructure facilities in the Montenegrin part are: - Tunnel "Sozina" ( 6171m ), - Bridge "Tanki rt" ( 200m ), - Bridge "Mala Rijeka" ( 499m long, 200m height ), - Tunnel "Trebesica" ( 5172m ), - Tunnel "Ostrovica" ( 3827m ), - Tunnel "Šljivovica" ( 2194m ), - Bridge "Tara I" ( 270m long ), - Tunnel "Radigojno" ( 2370m ), - Bridge "Tara III" ( 340m long ), - Tunnel "Razvršje" ("Mojkovac") ( 3246m ) and - Bridge "Ljuboviđa" ("Slijepač most") ( 450m long ). Silver Falls State Park

People call it the “crown jewel” of the Oregon State Parks system, and once you visit, you know why. Silver Falls State Park is the kind of standout scenic treasure that puts Oregon firmly onto the national—and international—stage. Its beauty, boundless recreational opportunities and historic presence keep it there. Nestled in the foothills of Oregon’s Cascade Mountains, less than an hour east of the state capital of Salem, the sprawling 9,200 acre property is the largest state park in Oregon, and one of the most popular.

Waterfalls: Where else can you walk behind a waterfall? Check out the famous South Falls and see what a 177-foot curtain of water looks like from behind. It’s part of the Trail of Ten Falls, a spectacular, nationally recognized hiking trail that weaves through a dense forested landscape. The trail passes a series of breathtaking waterfalls along a rocky canyon, and descends to a winding creek at the forest floor. This 7.2 mile loop is considered to be a moderate hike, with an overall elevation change of 800 feet. Several connecting trails with separate access points make shorter routes. For everyone’s safety— absolutely no pets allowed on the Canyon Trail. Pets on leash are allowed on all other trails.

Boots, bikes, paws, hooves: The park offers more than 35 miles of backcountry trails for mountain biking, hiking or horseback riding. Bears and cougars live in the more remote park areas.

Daytime activities: The South Falls Day-use area has spacious lawns, barbecue stands, picnic shelters, tables, a playground, horseshoe pits, an off lead area for dogs, and a charming creek. Ever since the opening day in 1933, visitors have been using these grounds for potlucks, family reunions and weddings.

Overnight: The main campground has tent sites, RV spots and cabins. Bring your horse and stay in the horse campground. If you need an area for many people, the park also has group tent and RV camps, dormitory-style bunkhouses (each Ranch sleeps 75) and the historic Youth Camp for up to 250 campers.
