A group of university students managed to save a koala which had become trapped down at a 15ft mineshaft in the Victorian Goldfields.
The students lowered a tree trunk to let him climb to safety, but with just inches from safety, the bear make a wrong turn making him to fall back into the shaft – a heartbreaking scene. The koala managed to make it out on his second attempt.
