Locusts are species that can breed rapidly under suitable conditions and subsequently become gregarious and migratory.
Locust swarms can hold billions of bugs, cover hundreds of square miles, and destroy fields in minutes. They haven’t caused as much damage as people feared, but they devastate all rice fields and other human food resources in a hugh area.
Locusts are edible insects, and are considered a delicacy in some countries and throughout history.
